International day of civil aviation

     The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed on December 6, 1996 on December 7 in the International afternoon ​​ civil aviation and insistently called the governments, and also the relevant national, regional, international and intergovernmental organizations to take the corresponding steps for its celebration (resolution 51/33).
     The assembly of International Civil Aviation Organization (IKAO) - specialized institution of the United Nations - declared this day in 1992 for the purpose of drawing attention to progress of the international civil aviation and their expansion.
     This day began to be celebrated since December 7, 1994 in connection with the fiftieth anniversary of signing of the Convention on the international civil aviation according to which IKAO was created.
