Two Huzul brothers all life divided everything: mother, toys, the right to be called the best, one woman, one son. But in their life there was an event after which they didn't talk with each other for 40 years. To their small provincial town there comes the writer who gives in the local monastery a lecture about Saints and foolishes. Among listeners — the elderly person whom call Voytko. The writer gradually enters Voytk's life and meets his brother.
